Doula Services

Looking for support during labour and birth or just needing another pair of hands to help with your transition into parenthood? Hiring a doula might just be for you.

What is a Doula?

By definition a Doula is ” a person who is trained to assist another during childbirth and who may provide support to the family after the baby is born. “- Google Dictionary

I define my self as a nurturing individual. As a doula my job is to make sure you are as confident and comfortable becoming a new parent as we are able to. I am there to listen, educate and help you feel empowered to advocate for yourself. I there to help with not only the good but the bad and everything in-between.

I already have a support person do I still need a Doula?

Unlike family/friend support, a doula has training in pregnancy, labour, birth and babies. We have resources to help with many different situations and approach our job and caring for you without any bias opinion. We can be a great person to bounce ideas off of or ask any question with out judgment. Like your midwife or doctor everything is confidential . You can also hire a doula to help support the whole family. sometimes your birth partner needs their own support during this special time. I could go on with all the great reasons to hire a doula, you can always set up a meeting and we can talk about how I can help make your life into parenthood a little easier.

How do you differ from other Doulas?

Before perusing becoming a Doula I trained as a Hair Dresser, Behavioral Interventionist and also do sewing jobs on the side. I have been working with the community of New Westminster since I was 12 years old. With growing up in New Westminster I have many connections in the city. I have three children of my own oldest born in 2016, and my youngest in 2022. I love to read and have gathered a little library of books that my clients are welcome to about pregnancy, labour, birth and the first year. I am a big believer in the breast milk and donate breast milk to babies who need it. I also love to baby wear and have a collection of different carriers that my clients are welcome to try out. I am not afraid of the unknown and can easily adjust during difficult situations. For more information about me check out “About”

Not sure if I can afford a Doula?

I work on a sliding scale, I can work within your budget and come up with a plan that will work for you and your birth experience. I am also volunteer doula with Doula Association of BC and a Doula for Aboriginal Families Grant Program (DAFGP) if you qualify for any of these programs.
