What’s in a name?

How ElderFlower came to be.

Not only is it a fun play on my last name but it is a well know herb that’s used for many things. In medieval times herbalists would use the bark to bring on labour. Today elderflower is used to help strengthen your immune system and keep away colds. It’s used for children and adults.

The Elderflower tree is seen in english folklore to keep away evil spirits. It was also said that if you stood under it fairys would appear.

I love folklore and holistic natural ways of living. Brining back nature into our lives and a connection to our past. My family comes from all over the world but mainly from England which the history and folklore fascinates me.

I am now own the name ElderFlower Doula in BC and happy to start my new journey under this name.
